PM and CM will virtually lay the foundation stone for the development work of Krishnapatnam Industrial Area

Another industrial corridor is going to be set up in the district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu will virtually lay the foundation stone for the development work of Krishnapatnam Industrial Area under the Vizag-Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor. A total of 10834.5 acres of development will be done in Chillakuru and Kota mandals of Gudur assembly constituency in three phases. Under the first

phase, development work will be done on 2,500 acres in Chillakuru mandal’s Tamminapatnam and East Kanupur villages, and Kothapatnam and Siddavaram villages in Kota mandal. Through this, Krishnapatnam Industrial Node is planning to attract investment of Rs. 37,500 crore in the industrial sector in food processing, textiles, apparel, electronics, automobiles, engineering, MSME and other construction equipment sectors. About 4,67,500 people will be directly and indirectly employed. The proposed investment in 2500 acres under Phase-L is estimated at Rs. 7,500 crore. It is expected to provide employment opportunities to about fifty thousand people. The area will be provided with road connectivity, water supply and reuse water network, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, general circulation plant, 132/33 KV substation, 33/11 KV substations and other necessary facilities. An outlay of Rs. 1173 crore will be spent on development infrastructure for the area under Phase-1. It is targeted to be completed by 2027.
